'Steering Group'
Aim:
Achievement of successive PDU re-accreditations through the 'Unit Development Action Plan' and the set criteria of the PDU standards set out by Edge Hill University.
The 'Steering Group' meets on a quarterley basis. It is made up of senior representatives from the professionals, management and patients from the Head and Neck unit at Aintree.

Unit Development Action Plan:
1.2 A multi-professional approach to the planning and ongoing development of the unit is reflected in the Action Plan and monitored by a Steering Group.
In order to realise the goal of PDU accreditation a 'Unit Development Action Plan' is set out by the Core & Steering Groups. The accreditation precess requires that:
- Multi-professional collaboration is apparent by regular attendance, minutes and contribution to progress with action plan.
- The Action Plan must detail aims, objectives, milestones, staff responsible (demonstrating multi-professional participation) and include strategies for staff development linked to the achievement of the goals.
- The Action Plan must outline the Unit's further planned developments during the accreditation process.
- The Action Plan must be discussed at regular PDU Steering Group meetings and updated, as necessary.
